How Much Does It Cost to Build a Mobile App in India in 2026?
By BlueFlute Software
Founders ask us this before they ask about Flutter or Node.js. Fair. At BlueFlute Software we price mobile work after we know the users, the first release, and what has to live on a server. The ranges below are starting points from work we have shipped — not a menu of fake packages.
What usually sits in an Indian app budget
Discovery and UX, the mobile clients, a backend (auth, data, notifications), testing on real devices, Play Store and App Store launch, then a month or two of support. Skip the backend and you still pay for it later. See also our typical investment ranges and the cost guide.
Ranges we use in 2026
A focused MVP (one main journey, Android + iOS via Flutter, basic admin) often starts around ₹3L–₹8L+. A business app with roles, maps or payments is commonly ₹5L–₹15L+. A marketplace or multi-sided product is usually ₹10L–₹25L+ because you are building two products that share a backend. These are not quotes. A consultation turns them into a number for your scope.
What changed the price on real projects
Raipur Homes needed search, maps and enquiry on both stores. Jewellskart was B2B catalogue and wholesale, not a consumer store. PsyAccount needed practice workflows plus a real API and database. Same stack family (Flutter, APIs, Firebase or PostgreSQL) — different scope, different cost.
Android vs iOS cost
With Flutter we do not double the entire budget for a second store. You still pay for two store listings, two review cycles, and device testing. Native Swift + Kotlin is the right call when the product is deeply platform-specific; it is rarely cheaper.
After launch
Budget a retainer for OS updates, store policy changes and small fixes. That is cheaper than rebuilding in a year. We outline this on maintenance.
How to get a number that is not a guess
Send the user types, the first-release features, and whether you need maps, payments or two apps. We reply with phases. Start from mobile app development or WhatsApp.
